As I stepped into Arepa Queen, the inviting aroma of freshly prepared dishes immediately enveloped me. The bright, clean environment made me feel right at home. The menu boasts a variety of options, including gluten-free choices, all cooked to order. The kind staff took the time to explain the menu, helping newcomers navigate the delightful array of flavors.
Among the highlighted dishes, the Queen arepa truly shines. This masterpiece features a savory chicken salad that perfectly balances flavors, topped with white shredded cheese and fresh avocado. I couldn’t agree more with one enthusiastic diner, who described it as "THE sandwich of all sandwiches". It’s no wonder the Queen is a fan favorite!
Equally captivating is the King arepa, filled with tender, shredded beef, fried sweet plantains, black beans, and queso fresco. Each bite is a burst of flavor that transports you straight to Venezuela. The accompanying green sauce complements both arepas beautifully, enhancing the already diverse palette of tastes.
But it doesn’t stop there. The tequenos, delectable sticks of white cheese wrapped in dough and served with a creamy garlic sauce, are pure indulgence. Describing them as "pure, unbridled MAGIC" does not do them justice—they are a must-try that has left many patrons, myself included, utterly speechless.

Stopped here on a whim on a road trip and we’re very glad we did! First time trying carchapas and they were delicious! Sweet and savory all at the same time. I was a big fan of the Queen (pictured). The staff were very kind and welcoming. Great little spot with a nice outdoor patio.

I’m completely blown away that there are reviews for this place that are less than 5 stars. Tried this tonight with my husband and my only complaint is that you’re not closer to my house. We got King and Queen arepas and an order of tequenos. For the love of all that is good, I should be thankful I don’t live closer because I’d blow up like a balloon from eating here too often. The arepas come in a delicious soft shell filled with deliciousness and a green sauce on the side. The King has super flavorful tender, shredded beef, fried sweet plantains, blacks beans, and queso fresco. It’s warm and savory and was delightful. The Queen has the BEST chicken salad I’ve ever had anywhere. It’s a salty, savory mix and not at all sweet, which is what I want in a chicken salad. It’s also topped with white shredded cheese and fresh sliced avocado. When I tell you, this is THE sandwich of all sandwiches, I am not kidding. WOW. The green sauce was very complimentary on both arepas even though they were both vastly different flavor/texture-wise. Then arrives the STAR of the show - the tequenos. I’m nearly rendered speechless trying to describe these things. It’s sticks of white cheese wrapped in a delicious bread-like dough that served with what can only be described as pure, unbridled MAGIC - a white, creamy garlic sauce. It’s got such a savory, decadent flavor. It’s incredible and I don’t have the words to describe just how amazing it is. You gotta take my word for it and try it out! Lastly, what an amazing experience. We told the lady at the register that we’d never been there before and asked for her recommendations. She was super kind and was quick to recommend the chicken salad. She ran into the back and snatched me a sample of the chicken salad to try and it SOLD me. Without looking at anything else, I immediately knew that’s what I wanted. As we were finishing up, the gentleman that was in the back came out to talk to us and he was so genuinely nice as well. An incredible experience. Thank you AQ!

My husband and I tried this place out. Amazing food. The cashier was super friendly and gladly explained all the options. There are options for almost all menu items to be gluten free and they have a dedicated gluten free fryer! We will definitely be back.

Toddler approved! Ordered online from the parking lot and walked in to pick it up and it was ready - less than 10min. So fast and delicious. We’ve been meaning to try for years and will absolutely be back!

This is one of the best arepas I have EVER had! The beef was packed with incredible flavor, and the environment was clean and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back ASAP!!!!

Didn't know what to expect or what I was going to get, but the young guy at the register made it extremely easy. He explained everything and helped me decide. The food is made fresh to order, and the taste is phenomenal! Most definitely will be a returning customer.

Wanted to try something that was not in the area where I live(out of state). At the register they were nice to explain to me the different options. While waiting for my order, a nice chat was started and felt more welcomed. I ordered the cachapa king. The combination of the shredded beef, w the sweet plantains, beans, and the cheese was exceptional. Especially the cheese. That cheese gave it a unique taste. Would highly recommend this place. If I lived in the area, I would probably try more of the things they offer, like the desserts. If I'm ever back in the area, I would stop by again. Saludos desde Texas and Mexico

Thank you for being a safe option. As someone who cannot have gluten and has to be vigilant about cross contamination, I appreciate that you all take it seriously and are one of only a couple places that are safe to eat in Frederick. It is such a treat to get takeout and enjoy a meal I did not cook. Thank you.
